STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has added former Cowgirl Samantha "Sammy" Elser to Larry Sanchez's coaching staff. Elser attended OSU from 2010-2014 and was a top contributor to winning three Big 12 Championships for the Cowgirls.
Elser competed in equitation over fences for her entire career at OSU as well as equitation on the flat during her senior year. Earning multiple most outstanding player awards, her addition to the coaching staff was a simple choice for Sanchez.
"Sammy is a competitor," Sanchez said. "She was one of the best Hunt riders to ride for OSU and has a passion for the success of this program"
Throughout her riding career, Elser qualified and competed in USET, Medal, Maclay and NEHC Finals, placing seventh in 2008 and ninth in 2009 in Zone 1 Maclay Regionals and placed fifth at NEHC Finals in 2009.
The Cowgirls kick off the 2015-16 season with a home meet against Southern Methodist on September 26 at Totusek Arena.
