STILLWATER - The Oklahoma State softball team hosted its first conference series of the year last weekend, as the Cowgirls took on 23rd-ranked Kansas in three tight battles. The Jayhawks came out with the series sweep, but Oklahoma State didn't go down easy, as two of the weekend's three matchups were decided by a single run.

- Set a new season high with 24 putouts in Sunday's game, which went to extra innings.
Individual Notes
Mallory Collins
OF | Fr. | Sand Springs, Okla.
- Posted her fifth multi-hit game of the year in the series finale, going 2-4 with two singles.
- Also tallied her third outfield assist of the season, which came in Thursday's series opener.
Shelby Davis
OF | Sr. | Goddard, Kan.
- Went 6-10 (.600) in three games against the Jayhawks, pushing her season batting average up to .455. That mark leads the Big 12, and ranks 26th nationally. Since Feb. 14, Davis has hit safely in 27 of 32 contests, and has compiled three separate hitting streaks of five games or longer.
- Added four stolen bases over the course of the weekend, bringing her season total to 43. That mark, in addition to her 1.26 stolen bases per game, leads the nation and provides a vital chunk of the Cowgirls' team average of 2.74 swiped bags per game, which ranks fourth in NCAA competition.
- Davis also added her fifth sacrifice fly over the weekend, which bumps her up to No. 5 in the nation in the SF category.
Brandi Needham
RHP | Soph. | Dripping Springs, Texas
- Set a new season-high for innings pitched in Saturday's extra-inning battle, going the full eight for her 12th complete game of the year.
- Walked three hitters in 14.1 innings of work over the weekend, bringing her walks allowed per seven innings count down to 1.35. That mark tops the Big 12, and ranks 35th in the country.
Vanessa Shippy
IF | Fr. | Couer d'Alene, Idaho
- With doubles in the second and third games of the series, Shippy increased her season doubles total to 11. Her average of .29 doubles per game ranks third in the conference.
