STILLWATER, Okla. - As part of Oklahoma State's Orange And Black Gives Back community outreach program, the Cowgirl softball team will host the "Pay It Forward" promotion during its doubleheader against Central Arkansas and Iowa on Tuesday, March 17.
During each of Tuesday night's games, fans and members of the community are encouraged to come to Cowgirl Stadium with various household items in hand, which will be collected and used as benefits for the Wings of Hope foundation. While watching the Cowgirls continue their 11-game homestand, spectators can exchange their items at a donation box located at the main entrance on the north side of the complex.
"Throughout the first year of our Orange And Black Gives Back campaign, we have seen our student-athletes impact the community in incredible ways," Assistant Director of Marketing and Promotions Alex Maun said. "We see this promotion as yet another opportunity for us to give back, in addition to continuing the growth of the program."
Pay It Forward will be one of more than 20 community outreach programs planned for OSU student-athletes and staff during the spring semester alone. Those attending the event can bring any combination of the following items:
- Paper towels, toilet paper or Kleenex
- Ziploc bags (gallon, quart or sandwich size)
- Trash bags (13 or 32 gallon)
- Cleaning supplies, including 409, Windex or bathroom cleaner
- Aluminum foil or plastic wrap
- 2015 calendars, weekly planners or key rings for lanyards
- HE laundry pods
