Miller Takes Second in Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. – Oklahoma State thrower Nick Miller took second place in the weight throw Friday on day one of the Sevigne Husker Invitational.
Miller, who was competing in just his second event of the season and first of 2015, threw 21.86 meters (71-8.75) for the runner-up finish and bested the field with the lone exception of USC's Conor McCullough, who threw 22.73 meters.
"I thought Nick Miller had a decent day today," OSU throws coach John Baumann said. "He hasn't thrown the weight since early December. He can use this weekend to build from."
Miller, a Carlisle, U.K., native, has now finished either first or second the last eight times he has competed in the weight throw, including a runner-up finish at last year's NCAA Indoor Championships.
In 2014, Miller threw 21.77 meters (71-5.25) to win the Husker Invitational on his way to his second consecutive Big 12 weight throw title. Miller still has the top throw in the Big 12 this season and the fourth-best time in the NCAA with the 22.56-meter mark that he recorded Dec. 13 at the Kansas State Winter Invitational.
Oklahoma State has four competitors scheduled for day two of the Husker Invitational, starting with Itamar Levi in the shot put at noon. Caileigh Glenn and Monika Juodeskaite will represent OSU in the women's one mile run, and Craig Nowak will participate in the men's one mile run.
