Cowgirls Rebound With Win Over UCF

ORLANDO, Fla. — Oklahoma State's women's basketball team bounced back from its first loss of the season with a 74-55 win at Central Florida on Tuesday afternoon in front of 908 fans inside CFE Arena.
With the win, the Cowgirls improved to 9-1, while the Knights fell to 3-7 on the year.
OSU shot 46 percent from the floor and held UCF to just 29 percent en route to earning its second road win of the year.
Despite holding the Knights to a 26 percent effort in the first period, the Cowgirls found themselves down 14-12 in large part to eight turnovers in the period.
Junior Alana Simon buried a 3-pointer to start the second and got OSU four consecutive points from sophomore Mandy Coleman to move in front 25-18 with 5:32 to go in the half. However, UCF answered with seven consecutive points to tie the contest before OSU scored seven of the final 11 points in the period to lead 32-29.
The Cowgirls used a 10-3 run to close the third period and grow their lead to 14 at 53-39 before senior Brittney Martin took over in the final period, scoring 10 of her game-high 27 points.
Martin finished with six rebounds, six steals and three assists as well. She was joined in double figures by sophomore Kaylee Jensen (16 pts.), Coleman (12 pts.) and senior Roddricka Patton, who added 11 points, including three 3-pointers.
Kayla Thigpen led UCF with 18 points.
OSU will close out its non-conference schedule on Dec. 27 when it hosts Savannah State.
