Cowgirls Suffer First Loss at South Florida

TAMPA, Fla. — Oklahoma State's women's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season on Sunday afternoon, falling 68-46 against No. 20 South Florida in front of 1,912 fans inside the Sun Dome.
The Cowgirls dipped to 8-1 on the season, while the Bulls improved to 7-2.
OSU never got on track offensively, scoring just eight points and committing eight turnovers in the first quarter to fall behind by eight through the first 10 minutes.
For the game, the Cowgirls shot 29.5 percent from the floor, while USF connected on 45 percent of its shots from the floor.
With two minutes remaining in the half, OSU trailed by five, but wouldn't score for the remainder of the period, while the Bulls reeled off the final five points of the half to lead, 31-21.
OSU cut the deficit back to single digits to start the second half, but USF answered quickly with an 8-2 run to take command of the game.
Senior Brittney Martin led the way for OSU with a game-high 19 points to go with nine rebounds and four steals. She was joined in double figures by sophomore Kaylee Jensen, who added 15 points and eight rebounds.
Courtney Williams paced USF with 16 points.
OSU will be back in action on Tuesday when it travels to Orlando, Fla., to face Central Florida.
