Cowgirl Tennis Announces Pair of Signees

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State women's tennis coach Chris Young signed two student-athletes to National Letters of Intent this week.
Katarina Stresnakova will join the Cowgirl program in January for the spring season.
A native of Nova Dedinka, Slovakia, Stresnakova has been ranked No. 140 in the ITF junior rankings.
Stresnakova has already put together an impressive resume, achieving a WTA singles ranking of 939 and a doubles ranking of 753.
"I am very excited to have Katarina join our program in January. She is a player who is very focused on her goals for the future and she will have an immediate impact on our program this spring," Young said. "She was heavily recruited and we feel very fortunate that she chose our program, and I can't wait to begin working with her."
Lena Ruppert completed the Cowgirl signing class. Ruppert will join the Cowgirl program in the fall of 2016.
The native of Weiden, Germany carries a reputation as one of the best young players in Germany.
Ruppert has been ranked as the No. 70 player in Germany, while recording five wins against players in the top-50. She is also rated as one of the top-10 players under the age of 18.
"Lena is a very athletic player who has a lot of potential…she comes from a great family and is very passionate about training and I can't wait to begin working with her," Young said. "I believe Lena is going to develop into a very strong player in our program and we are excited she chose to become a Cowgirl."
