November 17, 2015 | Cowgirl Softball
STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State softball team will welcome four new additions to the squad next season as part of the team's 2016-17 signing class, head coach Kenny Gajewski announced today.
Each of the four newcomers will join the Cowgirls from the state of Oklahoma, with three coming from the high school ranks and one (Shea Coats) transferring
from Oklahoma Christian University. The quartet of future Cowgirls has been selected as the 19th-best recruiting class by FloSoftball.com.
Logan Simunek – P – Piedmont, OK – Piedmont HS
Logan Simunek will join the Cowgirls after a stellar three-year reign with the Oklahoma Exclusive Gold, one of the country's most successful travel teams in recent years. In July, Simunek led the squad to the 2015 TC/USA Nationals 16U championship game, where she earned a no decision in the Exclusive's victory. The triumph culminated in an absolutely dominating summer for Simunek, who finished the season with a 33-4 record, 167 strikeouts and a 0.68 ERA. Over a two-year span, Simunek accumulated a 56-8 record in club competition. Simunek also started each of her first three seasons at Piedmont HS, where she led the Wildcats to district and regional championships in 2015. Off the field, Simunek has also been involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and was named an NFCA All-America Scholar athlete in 2015.

Macy Fisher – INF – Tuttle, OK – Bridge Creek HS
Originally a commitment to Florida State, Macy Fisher ventures to Stillwater after playing for Bridge Creek HS and Gametime Stars Gold in Oklahoma City. In club competition, Fisher was a part of squads that finished tied for 17th at both the 2013 and 2014 Premier Girls Fastpitch National Championships and the 2015 ASA/USA Junior Olympic Cup. In high school competition, Fisher recently wrapped up her senior season in style, hitting .494 with 38 RBIs, 19 doubles and a pair of homers. In addition to lighting up the competitive softball circuit, Fisher also starred in the classroom, finishing 5th out of 100 students in her class with a 3.93 GPA. Fisher also was a frequent contributor to her community, spending time with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Family Career and Community Leaders of America.

Hayleigh Galvan – C/3B – Fort Gibson, OK – Sequoyah HS
Hayleigh Galvan, an owner of 27 home runs over the last three high school seasons, serves as one of the Cowgirls' biggest power threats of the 2016-17 signing class. The Fort Gibson, Okla., native starred for Tulsa Elite 98, which finished second in last summer's TCA/USA Nationals. Her accomplishments have helped her earn selections to the All-Phoenix Fastpitch team, All-VYPE Fastpitch team and the FloSoftball Hot 100 player rankings, where she was chosen as the No. 66 recruit in the country. Over the course of her three-year career at Sequoyah HS, Galvan posted career totals of 59 doubles, 139 RBIs and a .526 batting average, all while being part of a squad that went 109-19 during Galvan's reign.

Shea Coats – P – Tuttle, OK – Oklahoma Christian University
Shea Coats joins the squad as the only newcomer with college experience, having previously pitched at Oklahoma Christian University for two seasons. Coats established herself as one of the most dominant pitchers in Division II, going 42-9 in 52 starts. Before reaching the NCCAA Championship game in 2015, Coats had winning performances in the NCCAA Central Region Championship and four contests in the national tournament, including a no-hitter against Lee University. For her efforts, Coats became a two-time NCCAA All-American and was named the NCCAA National Pitcher of the Year.
