Cowgirl Tennis Advances to Quarterfinals

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Oklahoma State women's tennis advanced to the quarterfinals of the back draw of the Riviera ITA All-American Championships on Friday.
The Cowgirl tandem of Viktoriya Lushkova and Carla Tur Mari looked to return to form after suffering their first loss of the week on Thursday.
"I'm proud of the way the girls responded today," coach Chris Young said. "They came out and dominated a good doubles team and I'm excited to see how they finish tomorrow."
The No. 36 doubles duo of Lushkova/Tur Mari advanced to the quarterfinal round of the consolation draw after defeating No. 19 Taylor Davidson/Caroline Lampl of Stanford, 8-2.
With the win, the Cowgirl tandem has won four matches in three days, including three wins over teams ranked within the top 40 in doubles.
Lushkova and Tur Mari will face another ranked opponent on Saturday, as they will take on No. 34 Alex Chatt/Maddie Lipp of Northwestern.
In singles action, Lushkova battled No. 31 Saska Gavrilovska of Texas A&M, before falling in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.
