OSU Track and Field Ranked in Preseason Poll
January 06, 2015 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track
STILLWATER –The Oklahoma State women's track and field team will enter the 2015 indoor track and field season as the No. 13 team in the nation, according to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) preseason poll released Tuesday.
The Cowgirls' spot in the polls marks the highest indoor track and field ranking in team history. The previous high mark was No. 15 after Oklahoma State's 15th-place finish at the 2014 NCAA Indoor Championships.
OSU concluded the 2014 campaign with multiple All-American performances at last season's national championships, as Savannah Camacho and Kaela Edwards finished second and third, respectively, in the 800 meters. Both Camacho and Edwards return in 2015, along with 2014 All-Big 12 selections Chase Ealey, Caileigh Glenn, Kristine Helle, Adela Hofmannova, Monika Juodeskaite, Clara Nichols and Viktoriia Sadokhina.
In the men's polls, the Cowboys received enough votes to earn the No. 31 spot, placing the team just outside of the national rankings. The OSU men also return a group of standouts from last year's squad, including All-Americans Nick Miller and Chad Noelle.
The OSU men's and women's track and field squads return to action Jan. 16, as the Cowboys and Cowgirls compete at the Holiday Inn Invitational in Lincoln, Neb.
