Cowboys, Cowgirls Stay Put In National Rankings

The Oklahoma State men's and women's cross country teams maintained their respective spots in this week's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national rankings released Tuesday.
After a dominating performance at Saturday's Cowboy Jamboree, the Cowboys checked in at No. 4 in the polls, extending a 57-week-long streak of being selected as one of the nation's top five teams. Oklahoma State's 321 votes match its mark from last week's ranking, helping the squad sustain its standing as the highest-ranked team in the Big 12.
OSU's women's cross country team was equally impressive at the Jamboree, as the Cowgirls placed four runners in the top five en route to their fifth-consecutive team championship at the meet. The performance kept the team at No. 19 in the rankings, positioning Oklahoma State as the second highest-ranked distance squad in the conference.
Both teams will return to competition on Oct. 18, when they travel to Sunnyvale, Calif., for the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational and Terre Haute, Ind., to compete at the NCAA Pre-Nationals.
