STILLWATER -
The Cowgirls enter the 2014-15 season as the first-ever winners of three-straight Big 12 Championships.
The third-ranked Cowgirls return four All-Americans from the 2014 season that saw the team post a 12-4 overall record. Returning All-Americans include Jorden Davis, Katy Krshka, Lindsey McMullen and Justine Peters, while head coach Larry Sanchez has brought in an impressive crop of young talent.
The Cowgirls bring in 14 new riders to this season's team, including Kaitlyn Arnold, Carly Barrick, Maddie Bender, Natalie Campbell, Danielle Cohen, Libby Collins, Kristin Hull, Katie Jones, Jordan Langan, Ebba Lange, Madelyn May, Caroline Morrison, Kendall Pedigo and Julia Purus.
Krshka and McMullen will aim to wrap up their careers in Stillwater with their best seasons yet. As a junior, Krshka posted an impressive 21-7-2 overall mark that brought her All-Big 12 honors in horsemanship and the title of Big 12 Most Outstanding Performer in the reining discipline. McMullen's 12-3 record in horsemanship also earned her All-Big 12 status on top of her First Team All-America honors.
The team's schedule this season includes five meets during the fall. The Cowgirl's 2015 campaign opens next Saturday, Sept. 27 with a home match against the South Dakota State Jackrabbits before the Cowgirls will travel to Waco, Texas, for a rematch of the 2014 Big 12 Championship match against the Baylor Bears on Oct. 18.
Following a pair of conference road matches against ranked opponents TCU and Kansas State, the Cowgirls will return home to Stillwater for an intriguing meet with the second-ranked and defending Southeastern Conference champion South Carolina Gamecocks.
The Cowgirls will finish off the season with three of their last four meets in Stillwater. The squad will host conference foes Kansas State (Feb. 7), TCU (Feb. 21) and Baylor (Feb. 27), before heading to Dallas, Texas, to close out the regular season against SMU (March 8).
Postseason play will begin on March 27 with the Big 12 Championships in Fort Worth, Texas. The NCEA Championships are scheduled to take place on April 15-18 in Waco, Texas.
