Cowboy Cross Country Stays At No. 4
September 16, 2014 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track
STILLWATER, Okla. -
The Oklahoma State men's cross country team remained the nation's No. 4 team this week, according to the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national poll, which was released Tuesday.
With the ranking, the Cowboys mark their 56th-consecutive week of being positioned in the top five of the national polls, a streak that began with the team's No. 2 ranking to open the 2008 campaign. Oklahoma State received 321 votes in the poll, maintaining the Pokes' status as the highest-ranked team in the Big 12.
On the women's side, Oklahoma State fell one spot to No. 20. The Cowgirls received 121 votes, enough to keep them two ahead of conference-foe West Virginia for the Big 12's No. 2 position in the national rankings.
Oklahoma State's men's and women's cross country teams will be back in action on Sept. 27, when they host the Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater.
