Three Cowgirls Advance At LPGA Qualifying Tournament

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. - Three members of the Oklahoma State women's golf program advanced through the first stage of the LPGA's Qualifying Tournament this past week at Mission Hills Country Club.

Competing in a 277-player field, former Cowgirls Jayde Panos and Amy Ruengmateekhun, both of which were seniors for OSU last season, as well as current Cowgirl Julie Yang all finished among the top 100 and ties to advance.

Ruengmateekhun tied for 38th place at 292, 4-over par, after posting rounds of 71, 74, 74 and 73.

Yang and Panos were among the 13 players to tie for 90th and finish a stroke above the cut line at 298. Yang posted rounds of 74, 75, 72 and 77, while Panos carded rounds of 71, 75, 74 and 78.

The trio advanced to the LPGA's Stage II event at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Fla., which will get underway Sept. 30.
