STILLWATER--Oklahoma State's women's tennis squad released its schedule for the 2014-15 campaign, head coach Chris Young announced Wednesday.
"I am very excited about the quality of our schedule this season," Young said. "With the completion of the Greenwood Tennis Center, we will have the best home schedule we've ever had, and that will be exciting for our fans. We have a talented roster, and they will be challenged each time out by a quality opponent, and that is how we will continue to develop as a program and compete with the best programs in the nation."
The Cowgirls kick off the fall season on Sept. 12-14 with trips to the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C., and the CCLR Collegiate Invite in Little Rock, Ark. Young and his squad will then travel coast-to-coast to compete in the Amelia Island Pro Circuit in Florida and the ITA All-American Championship in Pacific Palisades, Calif. On Oct. 2, the Cowgirls return to Stillwater to host the ITA Central Region Championship at the Greenwood Tennis Center. Wrapping up the fall are visits to the USTA Clay Court Championship and the Dickie V Clay Court Classic.
Oklahoma State starts the spring campaign with a double header at home, facing San Jose State and Louisiana Tech on Jan. 17. The next weekend, the Cowgirls head to the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Atlanta, Ga., before returning to Oklahoma for their next 10 matches, with eight in Stillwater, one in Tulsa and one in Norman. During that time, OSU will host teams such as Mississippi (Jan. 30), Arkansas (Feb. 1), Oral Roberts (Feb. 27), SMU (Feb. 27), Rice (March 6), New Mexico (March 7) and Big 12 rivals Baylor (March 13) and Texas (March 14). The Pokes will make their way back to California to take on Princeton in San Diego, followed by a pair of Big 12 road matches in Fort Worth and Lubbock. OSU will host three more conference matches, including Oklahoma, Kansas and K-State, respectively.
The 2015 Big 12 tournament will take place April 23-26 in Waco, Texas.
