Cowgirls Conclude Regular Season with Bedlam

STILLWATER - The Oklahoma State softball team wraps up the 2014 regular season this weekend with the conclusion of the Bedlam series. Saturday's game will take place in Stillwater, with first pitch set for 1 p.m. at Cowgirl Stadium. The Cowgirls will then travel to Norman for the conclusion of the series on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Marita Hynes Field.
The Sooners (43-10, 14-2 Big 12) won the first game of the three-game series, 2-0, back on April 2 in Norman. Overall, the Sooners lead the all-time series, 76-71.
At the plate, junior centerfielder Shelby Davis leads the Cowgirls. She leads the Big 12 in hits (71) and stolen bases (41), and ranks ninth in the league in batting with a .382 average. Sophomore third baseman Tiffany Mikkelson ranks seventh in doubles (11) and 10th in walks (27).
Senior Simone Freeman continues to rank among the league's top-five pitchers in several categories, including strikeouts (first with 278), innings pitched (first with 237-1/3), complete games (first with 23), starts (second with 37), wins (third with 21), earned run average (fifth with a 2.09 ERA) and shutouts (fifth with five).
Prior to first pitch on Saturday, the Cowgirls (26-26, 5-11) will recognize seniors Shannon Kaufman, Tarah Ettinger, Ari Morrison and Freeman for their contribution to the program.
