Cowgirls Conclude Non-Conference Schedule

STILLWATER - The Oklahoma State softball team heads to College Station, Texas, this weekend for its final non-conference games of the season. The Cowgirls will take on Texas Southern on Friday at 4:30 pm and face No. 24 Texas A&M at 7 pm at the Aggie Softball Complex. The Cowgirls will also play the Aggies on Saturday at 4 p.m.
Texas A&M (33-20) holds a 47-24 all-time record over OSU. The last time the two teams met was in May of 2012, when Texas A&M won the series. This will be the first-ever meeting between the Cowgirls (25-24) and Texas Southern (27-17).
At the plate, junior centerfielder Shelby Davis leads the Cowgirls. She leads the Big 12 in hits (68) and stolen bases (39), and ranks seventh in the league in batting with a .389 average. Sophomore third baseman Tiffany Mikkelson ranks sixth in doubles (11) and ninth in walks (26).
Senior Simone Freeman continues to rank among the league's top-10 pitchers in several categories, including strikeouts (first with 262), innings pitched (first with 223-1/3), complete games (first with 22), starts (second with 35), wins (third with 20), earned run average (fifth with a 2.04 ERA) and shutouts (fifth with four).
