Cowgirls Travel to Tulsa for Mid-Week Contest

STILLWATER, Okla. - The Oklahoma State softball team returns to action this Wednesday when the Cowgirls travel to Tulsa for an in-state matchup against the 18th-ranked Golden Hurricane. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. at the Collins Family Softball Complex.
The Cowgirls (25-23) will look to avenge last week's 1-0 loss to Tulsa (45-5) in Stillwater. Meanwhile, Oklahoma State leads the all-time series against Tulsa, 28-13.
At the plate, junior centerfielder Shelby Davis leads the Cowgirls. She leads the Big 12 in hits (68) and stolen bases (39), and ranks seventh in the league in batting with a .395 average. Sophomore third baseman Tiffany Mikkelson ranks sixth in doubles (11) and ninth in walks (26).
Senior Simone Freeman continues to rank among the league's top-10 pitchers in several categories, including strikeouts (first with 255), innings pitched (first with 217-1/3), complete games (first with 21), starts (second with 34), wins (third with 20), earned run average (sixth with a 2.06 ERA) and shutouts (fifth with four).
