Softball Set to Host No. 16 Tulsa

STILLWATER, Okla. - The Oklahoma State softball team will host No. 16 Tulsa in its final non-conference home contest of the 2014 season on Wednesday, April 23. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. at Cowgirl Stadium.
The Cowgirls (24-20) are set to battle a Golden Hurricane squad that is 41-5 on the season. OSU leads the all-time series over TU, 28-12, including a 14-3 mark in Stillwater. Meanwhile, the Cowgirls are coming off a weekend in which they upset No. 14 Baylor, 2-1 on Thursday night.
Junior centerfielder Shelby Davis leads OSU offensively. She ranks seventh in the league in batting with a .404 average. She leads the Big 12 in hits (65) and stolen bases (37). Sophomore 3B Tiffany Mikkelson ranks fifth in doubles (11), eighth in walks (24) and ninth in runs batted in (33).
Senior Simone Freeman ranks among the league's top-10 pitchers in several statistical categories, including strikeouts (first with 239), innings pitched (first with 197-1/3), wins (second with 19), earned run average (seventh with a 2.13 ERA), complete games (second with 18), starts (second with 31), and shutouts (fifth with four).
