Cowgirl Softball Hosts No. 14 Baylor

STILLWATER, Okla. - The Oklahoma Softball team returns to Big 12 action this weekend when the Cowgirls host No. 14 Baylor at Cowgirl Stadium. Competition is set to begin Thursday at 7 p.m., with Friday's game beginning at 6 p.m., and first pitch on Saturday slated for noon.
The Cowgirls, who are 23-18 and 3-7 in Big 12 play, are set to face-off against a 30-9 (4-3 Big 12) Baylor squad. OSU leads the all-time series over the Bears, 29-23, including a 15-7 mark in Stillwater.
Junior centerfielder Shelby Davis leads OSU offensively. She ranks fourth in the league in batting with a .418 average. She leads the Big 12 in hits (64) and stolen bases (36). Sophomore 3B Tiffany Mikkelson ranks fourth in doubles (11), eighth in walks (24) and runs batted in (33).
Senior Simone Freeman ranks among the league's top-five pitchers in several statistical categories, including strikeouts (first with 229), innings pitched (second with 185-2/3), wins (second with 18), earned run average (fourth with a 1.96 ERA), complete games (third with 17), starts (third with 29), and shutouts (fifth with four).
