Miller Wins Hammer Throw In Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -
Oklahoma State's Nick Miller won the hammer throw in day one of the John McDonnell Invitational, in Fayetteville, Ark., on Friday.
Miller's throw, a launch of 69.75m/228-10, was the top mark at the meet by more than 12.5 meters. He has now won the hammer throw at both outdoor meets in which he has competed this season, and ranks No. 3 in the NCAA in the event.
On the women's side, Caitlin Way took second in the hammer throw. Way, who currently ranks No. 19 in the West region, threw the hammer 54.84m/179-11, missing out on the win by just over a meter.
OSU track & field resumes competition at the John McDonnell Invitational tomorrow at 3 p.m.
