Five Cowgirls Earn Postseason Big 12 Awards

WACO, Texas – Five members of the 2014 Big 12 Champion Oklahoma State equestrian team received postseason awards, the league announced Saturday.

Senior Jenna Blumer highlighted the list of honorees as she was named Reining Rider of the Year for the second consecutive year. Blumer compiled a 10-3 record this season, going 7-1 in conference play. She picked up both wins during the Big 12 Tournament with scores of 139 against Kansas State and 137.5 against Baylor. She was also named to the All Big 12 Reining team for the second year in a row.

Senior Samantha Harrison was named to the All Big 12 Equitation over Fences and on the Flat teams. She posted an overall record of 17-8-1 over both events this season, garnering six Most Outstanding Performer awards. It was her second consecutive year to receive the honor in the equitation over fences discipline. Freshman Jorden Davis was also named to the All Big 12 Equitation on the Flat team. She recorded eight wins this season in the discipline.

Junior Katy Krshka received All Big 12 Horsemanship honors after posting an 11-2 record this season, with a 7-1 record in conference play. It is the third-straight year she has received the award. She was also named Big 12 Championship Most Outstanding Performer in the reining event, her team-high 10th of the season. She tallied scores of 141.5 and 142.5 in her victories over Kansas State and Baylor, respectively. Junior Lindsey McMullen also received All Big 12 Horsemanship honors for the second-straight year. She went 10-3 this season with one Most Outstanding Performer award.
