Blumer Named Reining Rider of the Month for February

STILLWATER - Oklahoma State equestrian rider Jenna Blumer was named National Collegiate Equestrian Association Reining Rider of the Month for February, it was announced today.
Blumer, a senior from Spring Brook, Pa., posted a 3-0 record in February while earning one Most Outstanding Performer award. The Cowgirl senior posted wins over Auburn, Delaware State, and Kansas State. In the neutral site meet against the Tigers on Feb. 1, Blumer defeated her opponent, 71.5-68, earning Most Outstanding Performer honors for the second time this year. Two weeks later on Feb. 15, Blumer earned a 69.5-68.5 win over Kansas State, and closed out the month with a 71.5-70.5 win over TCU. Blumer is has won six of her last seven matches and is 7-3 overall this season.
It is the third honor for a Cowgirl this season, as seniors Samantha Harrison and Mackenzie Fugitt earned NCEA Rider of the Month for January in the equitation on the flat and reining events, respectively.
Blumer and the No. 3 Cowgirls (7-3) close out the regular season against Tennessee-Martin (5-7) on Saturday, March 12, in Stillwater for senior day at Animal Science Arena.
