Cowgirl Equestrian Signs Six

The Oklahoma State equestrian team has signed six high school seniors in the class of 2015, head coach Larry Sanchez announced on Friday.
“I am very excited about the 2015 signing class,” Sanchez said. “This group will bring a lot of talent to our team, and they have the right attitude and work ethic to ensure a successful future.”
Alexa Beaty – Aubrey, Texas
Alexa Beaty will join the Cowgirls next fall from Aubrey, Texas. Beaty has garnered five NRCHA world championships, including the 2010 Youth Limited World Championship, 2011 Youth Bridle Reserve World Championship, 2012 Non-Pro Hackamore World Championship, 2013 Reining Reserve World Championship and Working Cow Horse Reserve World Championship. In 2013, she won the AQHYA Reining Reserve World Championship and the Working Cow Horse Reserve World Championship before finishing third in the events in 2014. Beaty has picked up several other awards, including the 2012 CRCA Non-Pro Derby Reserve Championship, the 2012 SRCHA Non-Pro Derby Championship and the 2014 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futrity Youth Bridle Championship.
Taylor Hickam – Arvada, Colo.
Arvada, Colo., native Taylor Hickam will join the Cowgirls next fall. Hickam was a National AQHYA World Championship National Qualifier in Horsemanship and Trail for three-straight years from 2012-14. In 2013, Hickam took home the 2013 Arizona Sun Circuit Youth Trail Horse Reserve Circuit Championship. She ended 2013 ranked 12th in the nation in the AQHA Youth Trail event. In 2011 she earned the Congress Championship in Novice Youth 13 and Under Trail and landed herself in the Congress top-ten at NYATT Horsemanship.
Emma Holbrook – Stillwater, Okla.
Emma Holbrook is a Stillwater, Okla., native, and already has several awards to her credit. Holbrook took home Reserve World Champion honors at the Youth World Championship Palomino Horse Show. Holbrook took home championships at the NRHA 2014 Derby and the History and Champions NRHA event. Holbrook notched a team championship at the Adequan North American Affiliate Championships. She was a qualifier at the AQHA Youth World Championships and the Adequan North American Affiliate Championships. Holbrook is the current president of the National Reining Horse Youth Association. Her father is a veterinarian at the Center for Veterinary Health Sciences at Oklahoma State.

Addie Minnick – Tulsa, Okla.
Addie Minnick will join the Cowgirl equestrian team next fall from Tulsa, Okla. Minnick has been named Oklahoma Hunter Jumper Association Champion and Junior Equitation Rider of the Year. She has racked up USEF Zone 7 honors, including being named Junior Hunter Champion and Children's Hunter Reserve Champion. Minnick also has a Midwest Equitation Finals Championship and a USHJA Junior Rider Award on her resume.

Audrey Montgomery – Malibu, Calif.
Audrey Montgomery joins the Cowgirl equestrian team from Malibu, Calif. Montgomery already has several awards to her credit, including a championship at the USHJA Zone 10 Stirrup Cup Finals. She notched a championship in the Low Child/Adult Jumper event at the Showpark Summer Classic and the Jumper Classic. Montgomery took home reserve championships in the Children's Jumper event at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center and the HITS Desert Circuit, and made workoffs at the CPHA Juniors, CPHA Foundation and SFHJA Challenge.

Paige Wacker – Hutchinson, Minn.
Hutchinson, Minn., native Paige Wacker is a five-time Congress Champion and three-time Reserve Congress Champion. She has also picked up two Reserve World Championships at the AQHYA National Show. The future Cowgirl has multiple Congress and World top-10 finishes in showmanship, halter, western pleasure and equitation to her credit.
