Cowgirl Softball Releases 2015 Schedule

The Oklahoma State Cowgirl softball team will play 26 games in 2015 against teams that made last year's NCAA Tournament, highlighting the spring schedule released by head coach Rich Wieligman today. The slate also boasts 37 matchups against teams that finished in the top-100 of the 2014 RPI rankings.
The Cowgirls' 2015 campaign will open with the first of a three-game set at Arizona on Friday, Feb. 6, followed by a trip to Mobile, Ala., to compete in the Mardi Gras Invitational beginning on Feb. 13. At the tournament, Oklahoma State will take on Lipscomb, Evansville, Butler and South Alabama.
The following weekend, the Cowgirls will travel to Palm Springs, Calif., for the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic. Notable opponents at the event include Florida State, a Women's College World Series team in 2014, and reigning Big West champion Long Beach State.
Oklahoma State will host its first game of the season on Saturday, Feb. 28, as the Cowgirls welcome Hofstra for a doubleheader in Stillwater. After completing a twin-bill against IPFW the following day, OSU will prepare to host the Mizuno Classic at Cowgirl Stadium, set to begin on Friday, March 6. The four-team tournament field will consist of OSU, Evansville, Connecticut and UMKC.
After wrapping up the Mizuno Classic, Oklahoma State will continue its home non-conference slate with tilts against Wichita State (March 11), Arkansas-Pine Bluff (March 14-15) and Iowa (March 17), before traveling to Utah for a doubleheader at Utah Valley (March 19) and a three-game set at BYU (March 20-21). The Cowgirls will conclude non-conference play with mid-week matchups against Tulsa on March 25 and April 15, an away game at Wichita State on April 8 and a late-season battle against North Texas on April 29.
OSU will kick off Big 12 action on the road on Friday, March 27, as the Cowgirls take on a Baylor squad coming off a semifinal appearance at last year's Women's College World Series. After hosting Kansas (April 2-4), Oklahoma State will travel to Iowa State (April 10-12), before welcoming Texas Tech (April 17-19) and Texas (May 1) for back-to-back Big 12 series in Stillwater.
The 2015 Bedlam Series will be split between Norman and Stillwater, with the Cowgirls hosting on April 22 and May 10 and the Sooners hosting on May 9. Following the conclusion of the regular season, postseason play will begin on Thursday, May 14, with the NCAA Regionals.
