Oklahoma State Tennis Completes Play in Florida

ORLANDO – Cowgirls Maria Alvarez and Carla Tur Mari played their final matches of the USTA Collegiate Clay Court Invitational in Orlando, Fla., on Saturday.
Alvarez went up against Central Florida's Sofia Baptista in her second round of the consolation bracket. The junior won five games, but it was not enough as she was defeated, 6-2, 6-3.
Sophomore Tur Mari put up a tough fight against Alizee Michaud of Stetson. Michaud took the first set 7-6(6), but Tur Mari answered with a 7-5 win in the second, pushing that match to a third-set super tiebreaker. Tur Mari was not able to hang on and lost the tiebreaker, 10-8.
The Cowgirls will continue competition next week, when they return to Florida to compete in the Dickie V Clay Court Classic.
