Cowgirls Finish Day Two at Clay Court Invitational

ORLANDO, Fla. – Oklahoma State's women's tennis team finished its second day of competition at the USTA Collegiate Clay Court Invitational in Orlando, Fla., on Friday.
Senior Karyn Guttormsen wrapped up tournament play, when she dropped a 6-3, 6-2 match to No. 91 Kerrie Cartwright of Florida State in the second round of the singles championship bracket.
The day was capped off by a pair of wins in the consolation bracket from Maria Alvarez and Carla Tur Mari.
Alvarez defeated Annina Brendel of Youngstown State with a dominant 6-3, 6-3 win. Tur Mari shut out Youngstown State's Nehel Sahni in the first set, 6-0, and finished off the match with a 6-3 win in the second.
Alvarez and Tur Mari will continue singles play on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. CT.
