Cowgirl Tennis Wraps Up Wednesday Action in California

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Members of the Oklahoma State women's tennis team finished their second day of play on Wednesday at the Riviera/ITA All-American Women's Championship in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
The doubles team of Katarina Adamovic and Vladica Babic fell to the nation's No. 32 team in DeSantis and Niehaus of Ohio State in three sets. The Cowgirls took the first set, only giving up two games, but with a second-set win, the Buckeyes forced the match to a third set tiebreaker and got the victory, 2-6, 6-4, 10-6.
Kelsey Laurente was knocked out of singles competition after a loss in the qualifying consolation bracket. The Cowgirl went against No. 38 Giuliana Olmos of USC. Olmos took the match in straight-sets, 6-4, 7-6.
Laurente will be back in action on Thursday when she teams up with OSU sophomore Viktoriya Lushkova for the main draw of the doubles bracket as they take on the 20th-ranked Natalie Beazant and Liat Zimmerman from Rice.
Lushkova, ranked No. 26, will also begin play in the main draw of the singles bracket. She is slated to face No. 9 Sylvia Garcia from the University of Georgia.
