STILLWATER, Okla. - The Oklahoma State softball team has added Darcy Taylor to the 2014 roster, head coach Rich Wieligman announced today.
Taylor, a Jenks, Okla., native, played her freshman campaign at Arizona where she played 14 games off the bench for the Wildcats. A graduate of Jenks High School, Taylor set school records for batting average (.504), home runs (18), runs batted in (64) and pitching victories (28) during her senior season, and helped lead the Trojans to the state tournament in both 2011 and 2012 for the first time in school history.
She was honored as the 2011 Tulsa World All-Metro Pitcher of the Year, and was the Gatorade Player of the Year and Tulsa World All-Metro Player of the Year in 2012.
"Darcy is a great player with a lot of power and a lot of potential," Wieligman said. "We plan on redshirting her, so she's coming in and getting ready to work for next season. With her height, she's a good defensive first baseman and overall she's a great kid with great work ethic."
