STILLWATER – Oklahoma State University Athletics has added a new facet within the department with the creation of Orange Power Studios. The new video operation will produce original and exclusive content for OkState.com and social-media platforms for the athletics department.
Orange Power Studios will also provide in-game programming for video boards throughout all of OSU's athletic facilities, as well as assist in production efforts for Oklahoma State's third-tier television agreement with Cowboy Sports Properties and Fox Sports Net.
The new operation will be under the direction of executive producer C.J. Lickert, who was most recently the production manager and technical director of the NBA's New Orleans Hornets.
“I'm extremely excited to be back on a college campus,” said Lickert. “Video production and content has become an important part of the college landscape on various fronts, and I'm anxious to get Orange Power Studios up and running.”
The University of Nebraska alum and Omaha, Neb., native worked as an undergraduate for HuskerVision in the Huskers' athletics department. He began his professional career with Major League Baseball's Tampa Bay Rays before moving to Norfolk, Va., where he helped open the Ted Constant Convocation Center. He was also part of the staff that opened the Qwest Center in Omaha.
Lickert's six years with the Hornets began when the team spent a season in Oklahoma City after Hurricane Katrina. He has also worked as a freelance director for the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, and served as technical director for the Bayou Classic, the New Orleans Bowl, the Sugar Bowl and the 2012 BCS National Championship Game. His brother, Mike, heads up Rock Chalk Video Productions at the University of Kansas.
Orange Power Studios will be housed in the west end zone of Boone Pickens Stadium.
