OSU Athletes Named To Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team

IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma State had 44 student-athletes named to the inaugural Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team, which was released by the conference office today.
The Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team honors conference competitors who are new, incoming freshmen at their respective institution. A total of 383 student-athletes were named to the inaugural team.
Oklahoma State is one of five Big 12 schools with at least 40 players on the Big 12 All-Rookie Team. Additionally, OSU along with Baylor, leads all league schools with four student-athletes nominated to the team with a 4.00 grade point average. Those OSU athletes were equestrian's Jessica Paris and Justine Peters, soccer's Caitlyn Biggers and track & field's Amanda Lark.
Nominated by each institution's director of student services, student-athletes on the 2012-13 Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team must be new, first-time/incoming freshmen that have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial coursework and achieved a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00. Additionally, the student-athlete must have participated in at least one of their team's scheduled contests and must have been a member of their respective team for their sport's entire NCAA Championship segment.
