STILLWATER -- Oklahoma State University wishes to thank the generous people across the country who contributed to the incredible response to the benefit shirt efforts to support Oklahoma disaster victims in 2013.
The initial 2013 Oklahoma Disaster Relief shirt was developed in conjunction with the University of Oklahoma and the University of Tulsa after a wave of deadly tornadoes hit several parts of Oklahoma in May. The shirt features the logos of all three institutions along with the phrase "OK Together." As of Tuesday, June 11, sales of the shirt across all three websites have raised more than $130,000 for disaster relief efforts.
The shirt is available in adult and youth sizes on the OSU, OU and Tulsa official athletic sites. The shirts, produced by Box Seat Clothing Company, can be purchased for $19.95 at shop.okstate.com. A long-sleeved version of the shirt is also available online for $24.95.
All proceeds from the sale of each tee will go to The United Way for disaster relief efforts in the affected areas to further the movement of recovery and restoration. Some of the services provided include opening and operating shelters, case management for those experiencing loss, mobile feeding sites for those working in disaster-affected areas, and more. Disaster relief efforts are provided free of charge and are entirely supported by financial contributions.
