Ettinger Named All-Big 12 Second Team

Stillwater, Okla. — Oklahoma State junior Tarah Ettinger has been named All-Big 12 Second Team in a vote of the league coaches, it was announced today. Ettinger was selected as a utility player on the squad.
The Plainfield, Ill., native led the Cowgirls in several statistical categories, including batting average (.327), at-bats (162), hits (53), home runs (10) and runs batted in (42). She also led OSU in total bases (92) and slugging percentage (.568). Although she started 19 of the final 20 games at first base, she started the year as the designated player, hence the utility position.
Ettinger was named the Big 12 Player of the Week during the final week of the regular season for her performances against sixth-ranked Texas. Her two-run home run in the second win over the Longhorns proved to be the game winner, one of five game-winning RBIs she had on the season.
With Ettinger's accolade, Oklahoma State has now had at least one all-conference softball selection every year since 1983, a span of 31 seasons. A total of 150 Cowgirls have been named all-conference, including 62 All-Big 12 performers since the league formed in 1996.
