BRYAN, Texas - Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted a 36-hole total of 596 during the first day of action at the Aggie Invitational on Saturday to stand in 10th place at Traditions Golf Club.
The Cowboys' 20-over score included a 299 during the morning round and a 297 tally during the afternoon session. Alabama fired a 15-under 561 at the par-72, 7,146-yard layout to lead the event by 12 shots with 18 holes remaining.
Kent State's Corey Conners and Washington's Chris Williams shared the individual lead at 7-under 137.
OSU junior Talor Gooch carded rounds of 75 and 72 to stand at 147 and tied for 18th place.
Junior Ian Davis was one stroke off the pace of his teammate, carding a pair of 74s to stand at 148 and tied for 25th place.
Freshman Jordan Niebrugge's 151 total included rounds of 76 and 75, tying him for 42nd place.
Junior Kevin Dougherty also finished with a 151 total after posting rounds of 74 and 77, while sophomore Patrick Winther came in at 152 and tied for 46th place after logging consecutive 76s.
The Cowboys will begin their final round at 8:33 a.m. (CST) and will be grouped with North Texas and Texas Tech.
