Cowboys Finish Fourth At Morris Williams

AUSTIN, Texas - Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted a closing 288 score during the final round of play on Sunday at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate to finish in sole possession of fourth place at the University of Texas Golf Club.
The Cowboys wrapped up the event with a 54-hole total of 856, 4-over par, and two shots behind TCU. Texas Tech carded an 853 score to finish second at the par-71, 7,412-yard layout. Texas won the event with a 4-under 848 total.
Tech's Finley Ewing IV posted a 68 during his third round to finish at 7-under 206 and edge OSU's Jordan Niebruggeby a stroke for medalist honors.
The Cowboy freshman posted a closing 70 that included a hole-in-one at the 248-yard 16th hole. In addition to the ace, Niebrugge carded four birdies on the day en route to his 1-under score. The runner-up showing is the second of his career and marks the third time he has finished in the top five in his first collegiate season.
Junior Talor Gooch's 1-over 72 tied him for 14th place at 216, while fellow junior Ian Davis finished with a 74 to get in at 216 as well.
Junior Kevin Doughertycarded his low round of the event with a 72 to finish at 221 and tied for 39th.
Sophomore Patrick Winthertied for 58th place at 228 after signing for a 78 during his final round.
Senior Sean Einhauscompeted individually and finished tied for 64th at 232 after a closing 80.
The Cowboys will be back in action on April 22 when they begin play at the Big 12 Championship at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan.
