Cowboys In 10th At Southern Highlands

LAS VEGAS - Oklahoma State's men's golf team opened play on Friday with a 296 team score to stand in 10th place at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters at Southern Highlands Golf Club.
The Cowboys' 8-over total put them a shot behind Georgia Tech for ninth at the par-72, 7,510-yard layout. California leads the team race by a stroke over Stanford after posting a 3-under 285.
Stanford's Patrick Rodgers fired a 6-under 66 to grab a two-shot lead in the individual race.
Four Cowboys all shot 74s to stand in a tie for 28th place. Junior Talor Gooch, freshman Jordan Niebrugge, senior Sean Einhaus and sophomore Patrick Winther all posted 2-over scores.
Junior Ian Davis finished the day tied for 58th place after signing for a 77.
The Cowboys will return to action tomorrow morning at 8:27 a.m. (PST) for their second round and will be grouped with Duke and Oklahoma.
