Cowgirls Fall to Wildcats, 11-8

Manhattan, Kan. — Oklahoma State's third-ranked equestrian team fell to the eighth-ranked Kansas State Wildcats, 11-8, on Saturday at the Timbercreek Stables in the team's regular season finale.
For the first time this season, both the Western and Hunter Seat teams lost. The Western team fell 5-4 and the Hunter Seat team fell 6-4.
Sophomore Katy Krshka continued her winning ways, picking up her team leading 13th MOP on the season in Horsemanship, while junior Jenna Blumer picked up her fourth MOP this season in Reining.
OSU's Reining team picked up the lone victory for the Cowgirls with a 3-2 win. Junior Jenna Blumer led the way with an MOP performance, which was her fourth of the season. Katy Krshka and freshman Justine Peters also picked up their points.
The Horsemanship team fell 3-1 despite Krshka's MOP performance.
In the Hunterseat portion of todays meet, both Equitation and Equitation Over Fences fell 3-2.
Freshman Amy White and sophomore Allie Joyce picked up victories in Equitation, while junior Samantha Harrison and junior Sammy Elser picked up their point in Equitation Over Fences.
The Cowgirls will next be in action when they host the 2013 Big 12 Equestrian Championship at the Animal Science Arena on March 29-30.
