Cowboys Finish Sixth In Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS - Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted a 296 during its third round on Sunday to finish in sixth place at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters at Southern Highlands Golf Club.
The Cowboys finished with a 54-hole total of 887, 23-over par, to come in 11 shots behind Stanford at the par-72, 7,510-yard layout. California rolled to the team title, finishing at 8-under 856 and 13 shots clear of the field.
Stanford's Patrick Rodgers claimed medalist honors after winning a playoff among four players tied at 4-under 212.
OSU freshman Jordan Niebrugge closed with a 74 to lead the Cowboys with a 220 total and a 19th-place finish.
Junior Ian Davis tied for 25th place at 222 after closing with a 75, while classmate Talor Gooch finished with his low round of the event, a 73, to tie for 39th place at 225.
Sophomore Patrick Winther tied for 39th place at 225 after signing for a 76 during his third round.
Senior Sean Einhaus' 74 tied him for 52nd place at 227.
OSU will be back in action on March 16 at the Don Puckette National Invitational Tournament in Tucson, Ariz.
