Oklahoma State vs. Oklahoma Postgame Quotes
February 23, 2013 | Cowgirl Basketball

OSU Head Coach Jim Littell
Opening Statement
"I'm really proud of our basketball team. We competed how we prepared for this game. I told them that I never know which team is going to show up, but the good one showed up, and they were good today."
On the offense today
"Early in the game we got three or four putbacks that got us off to a good start, but I think that we were just playing, having fun, getting out and running. Tiffany Bias was very special today. She ran the show, distributed the basketball and ran with great energy and great speed. She was just tough to guard. When she gets rolling like that, our other kids feed off of her. When she's that good, our team takes it to a new level."
On stopping Nicole Griffin
"We worked a lot harder to not let her establish down low. We tried to force her further out and get her set up about six or seven feet from the basket. We let her catch way too low in Norman. Kendra Suttles did an outstanding job on her not allowing her to get low. LaShawn (Jones) came in and did a nice job too. We worked hard at it, and the kids carried out the game plan."
Tiffany Bias
On her agressiveness in the second half
"Coach really told me to push the ball and look for gaps to see if I had anybody open, or take it to the basket f I needed to. It's always good to attack them, especially on those fast breaks when they're still trying to transition and get back."
On recovering from the big run from OU in the first half
"In the game of basketball, there are always going to be runs, so we had our run and they had their run. You just have to keep your composure, fight through it, and get through the half. In the second half, we calmed down. We weren't frustrated. We knew that our team could figure this out, and so we did. We came out and fought hard."
Toni Young
On beating OU
"It hasn't really hit me that this was my last Bedlam yet. I just wanted to come out and perform for my team. My team did a great job. Our bench did a great job. LeShawn Jones came out and guarded at the three point line. Kamri Anderson came in and played well with Brittney Martin in foul trouble. I think that this may be one of the best memories that I have had playing here. We came out and played as a family."
Oklahoma Head Coach Sherri Coale
On where the Sooners struggled most
"Giving up offensive rebounds. That's the statistic that tells the tale. You can survive not shooting real well if you're not giving other teams extra possessions. They got 19 extra shots. 19 offensive rebounds. It's hard to win, especially on the road."
On the Cowgirls' mindset heading into tonight
"I don't know that I expected the TCU game to factor in any way, shape or form. When the two of us play, you can throw everything out the window. It's a rivalry game."
On early-season injuries
"It's tough. I hope that there aren't any more years like this. I hope that there aren't any teams that has to lose four of their best seven players before conference play even starts. We sure shouldn't have to go through it again. It's just one of those tough things that it is what it is. We've played through it for two months. We know that our margin of error is really thin, really small, and that everyone has to show up and fight and stay focused, and when they're not you call time-out and yell and scream and turn a cartwheel and do what you can. At some point, people have to make decisions."
On the Sooners' next game against Baylor
"We have to regroup and go compete. We really competed against Baylor at their place, and that's what I want our guys to do. They're obviously an incredibly talented team, they're incredibly deep, and we've got a week of conference play left, and we've got to attack and play the way we know we can play, and get ourselves into the Big 12 Tournament and see what happens."
Morgan Hook
On the start of the second half
"We didn't come out with the fight we had in the first half. We just kind of came out there and thought it was going to fall into our hands, and we didn't start the game with that same fire we had in the middle of the first half."
On why the Sooners struggled
"It was the offensive boards, just like [Coach Coale] said. We would stop them, and then they'd get an and-1 from an offensive rebound and that's where it all started."
Aaryn Ellenberg
On the Sooners' overall performance
"I thought we fought the first half. We were down, we got ourselves in a bad spot, and we came back from that. Offensive rebounds, and not being ready defensively, and just a lot of things came together that we didn't respond to, and they hit us. It was all us. We could have controlled everything that happened there, but we didn't."
