Future Cowgirl Earns Honor

Future Oklahoma State softball player Mallory Collins was named the 2013 Tulsa World Metro Softball Player of the Year. Collins, a native of Sand Springs, Okla., will suit up for the Cowgirls starting in 2014-15 academic year.
During her senior season, Collins hit .491 her senior year for Sand Springs High School. She had a .574 on-base percentage, 11 stolen bases, eight home runs, two triples, 19 doubles and 37 runs batted in.
The outfielder helped lead Sand Springs to a 28-9 record. The Sandites won 15 out of 16 games en route to the 6A State quarterfinals, before falling to Moore.
For her career, Collins hit .441 with 56 doubles and 140 RBIs and was named Tulsa World Softball Player of the Week twice as a senior.
