Cowgirl Equestrian Opens Season with Two SEC Opponents

STILLWATER, Okla. - The Oklahoma State equestrian team opens the 2012 season on the road this weekend, taking on Auburn Friday at 3 p.m. before a Saturday meeting with South Carolina at 12 p.m.
About the Cowgirls
The Cowgirls are coming off another successful season, capped off by a Western Reserve national championship. The Cowgirls also took home their first Big 12 Championship since 2009.
OSU in the Rankings
The Cowgirls are ranked fifth in the preseason Women's Intercollegiate Equestrian National Coaches Poll.
About the Opponents
Auburn is ranked third in the preseason poll.
South Carolina is ranked fourth in the preseason poll.
OSU Lineups
Four Cowgirls return from last year's Western Reserve national championship team.
Jenna Blumer: 10-5-1 overall record in 2011, including an undefeated mark at last year's NCEA National Championships...only the third Cowgirl in school history to win the Collegiate Reining Challenge at the National Reining Horse Association Derby.
Marissa Dalton: 8-7-1 overall record in 2011 and a member of the 2011 OSU Big 12 Championship squad...was the MVP of last year's head-to-head victory against Georgia.
Samantha Harrison: Also went an undefeated 3-0 at last year's NCEA National Championships with an average score of 86.17 per judge, higher than any previous score last year.
Ellie Sparks: The third returning member of the OSU equestrian team to go undefeated at the NCEA National Championships last year... honored as the MVP after a meet with TCU in 2010.
