Michele Smith Joins MLB on TBS Booth, Sunday

STILLWATER - Former Oklahoma State softball star Michele Smith will become the first female to serve as an analyst for a nationally televised Major League Baseball game when she joins Ernie Johnson and John Smoltz in the "MLB on TBS" broadcast booth Sunday when the Los Angeles Dodgers take on the Atlanta Braves at 12:30 CST.
As a Cowgirl, Smith, was a two-time first-team All-American and was selected to the All-Big Eight team three times, the all-Region team twice and the Big Eight all-tournament team three times.
Smith, ranks in the top 10 in 16 offensive and pitching single season categories. She currently holds the school record for the most no-hitters thrown with nine, including two perfect games. She owns the school record for career victories with 82, is tied for second in career triples with 10, and is second in shutouts with 46.
After her four years with the Cowgirls, Smith went on the win two gold medals in the 1996 Atlanta and the 2000 Sydney Summer Olympic Games.
Smith has played professionally in the Japanese Professional Softball League since 1992 and is an eight-time Japanese Pro League Champion and MVP.
She currently serves as an ESPN softball analyst and was inducted into the ASA Softball Hall of Fame in 2006.
