FRANKLIN, Tenn. - Oklahoma State's Kelsey Vines posted a 72 during the first day of action at the NCAA Championship on Tuesday to stand in a tie for 18th place at Vanderbilt's Legends Club.
Vines was one of nine players to post an even-par score at the par-72, 6,377-yard layout. Virginia's Portland Rosen leads the individual race after firing a 6-under 66 during her opening round.
The OSU junior posted her first birdie of the day at the second hole before carding five-straight pars. Vines bounced back with a birdie at the 15th and another at the closing par-5 18th to return to even for the day.
