Cowgirls Slip Into 13th At NCAA Regional

STATE COLLEGE, PA. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team carded a 308 during its second round on Friday at the NCAA East Regional to slip into a tie for 13th place at the Penn State Blue Course.
Through 36 holes, the Cowgirls stand at 607, 31-over, and are tied with Augusta State and Kent State. South Carolina maintained its hold on the top spot at the par-72, 6,253-yard layout, posting a 294 to stand at 582 and seven shots clear of Alabama.
The top eight teams in the field will advance to the NCAA Championship on May 22-25 at Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn. OSU will begin tomorrow's final round eight shots behind Washington, which currently holds the eighth spot.
With a 73 during her second round, Katerina Ruzickova stretched her lead in the individual race to three strokes with a 140 total.
Junior Kelsey Vines posted the Cowgirls' low round of the day with a 75 to come in tied for 24th place at 148.
Sophomore Jayde Panos' 78 knotted her for 40th place at 150, while senior Jocelyn Alford carded a 77 to finish at 153 and tied for 63rd place.
Sophomore Josephine Janson's second consecutive 78 gave her a 156 total and tied her for 84th place.
Sophomore Amy Ruengmateekhun posted an 80 to stand at 159 and tied for 101st.
The Cowgirls will begin their final round tomorrow at noon (EST) and will be grouped with Kent State and Augusta State.
