Cowgirls Travel to Austin

Stillwater, Okla. — Oklahoma State's Cowgirl softball team will travel to Austin, Texas, this weekend for a three-game Big 12 Conference series with the fifth-ranked Texas Longhorns. The first game is scheduled for 5 pm on Friday evening.
The Cowgirls are 22-16 overall this season and 5-6 in Big 12 Conference action following an 8-3 win over the Tulsa Golden Hurricane on Wednesday night. OSU ranks No. 39 in the NCAA's rating percentage index released on Monday.
Texas is 35-6 overall this season and 9-4 in league play following a 5-4 extra-inning loss at Baylor Wednesday night. The Longhorns are in second place in the Big 12 standings entering this weekend's contests.
OSU is 10-22 all-time against Texas, although the Longhorns didn't start a softball program until the Big 12 formed in 1996. In Oklahoma State's last visit to Austin, pitcher Kat Espinosa threw a no-hitter, the first of her career. She has three no-hitters this season.
