Notes for the Gaucho Classic II in PDF format
Stillwater, Okla. — Oklahoma State's Cowgirl softball team travels to Santa Barbara, Calif., this weekend to compete in the Gaucho Classic II, hosted by UC Santa Barbara. The Cowgirls will play five games in the tournament.
OSU will open play against San Jose State on Friday at 3:45 pm CT, followed by a 6 pm game against UCSB. The Cowgirls will continue on Saturday morning at 11 am with a game against SJSU, and play the Gauchos again at 1:15 pm. Oklahoma State will finish the tournament with a game on Sunday at 11:30 am versus Wisconsin.
OSU is 13-9 this season following a 2-1 win over Wichita State on Tuesday night. The Cowgirls are led by junior outfielder Tamara Brown, who is batting .361 this season. Sophomore Ari Morrison, OSU's leadoff hitter and second baseman, is hitting .324 with eight stolen bases on the year.
Oklahoma State is 3-3 all-time against UC Santa Barbara and 2-0 all-time against Wisconsin. OSU and San Jose State have never met on the softball diamond.
