Espinosa Named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week

Stillwater, Okla. — Oklahoma State junior pitcher Kat Espinosa has been named the Big 12 Conference's Softball Pitcher of the Week, it was announced today by the league office. It is the second of-the-week honor of her career.
Espinosa tossed her second no-hitter of the season as the Cowgirls defeated Nebraska 2-0 in the Mizuno Classic on Friday. She retired seven Huskers during the stint and was just one walk shy of a perfect game. It was her third-career no-hitter.
The Houston native also threw four scoreless innings in relief at Tulsa last Wednesday, picking up the victory. In 11 innings of work in the circle during the week, Espinosa allowed no runs and gave up only one hit. She is 6-3 on the season with one save.
Espinosa and the Cowgirls host Wichita State tonight at 7 pm at the Cowgirl Softball Complex.
