Cowboys Send Nine to NCAAs
Oklahoma State is sending nine of its 10 starters to the NCAA Championships, as all nine earned automatic berths after the Big 12 Championships. OSU has a wrestler in the 125, 133, 141, 149, 157, 165, 174, 197 and 285 pound brackets.
Pokes Are Big 12 Champs
Although OSU finished second at the Big 12 Championship tournament, the Cowboys have still earned the right to be called conference champions after finishing 6-0 against Big 12 opponents to win the inaugural Big 12 regular season championship. The Cowboys have now won 11 Big 12 team titles in 16 years of competition. OSU wrestlers Jordan Oliver, Jamal Parks, Chris Perry and Cayle Byers were all crowned as Big 12 individual champions, bringing the Cowboys' all-time total of conference champions to 238.
Oliver is Back for More
Cowboy junior Jordan Oliver is already an NCAA Champion. Oliver is coming off of a perfect 29-0 season in 2010-11, winning the 2011 NCAA individual championship at 133 pounds. His record included 24 bonus-point wins and his 82.8 bonus-point win percentage was the fifth-highest single-season mark in OSU history.
Cowboys Return Two All-Americans
In addition to Jordan Oliver, who is a two-time All-American with last year's NCAA title and a fourth-place finish in 2010, Jamal Parks has also received the distinction of All-American. He earned the status for the first time last year with a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Championships. He finished with a 30-5 overall record that included six wins over ranked opponents and three wins over eventual All-Americans.
Pokes Missing One All-American
Oklahoma State heavyweight Alan Gelogaev is out for the NCAA Championships for the second-consecutive year. 'Z' was an All-American wrestling at 197 pounds in 2010 (seventh place), but missed last season with with an injury he sustained in the first open tournament of the year, and has been sidelined this season since his injury at Oklahoma.
Cowboys At the NCAA Championships
The Oklahoma State wrestling program boasts 34 NCAA titles all-time, making it the winningest program in all of college sports. Cowboy wrestlers have combined to win 134 NCAA individual titles and 425 All-America honors through the years, far surpassing the second-place totals held by Iowa (78 champions and 291 All-Americans).
John Smith At The NCAA Meet
John Smith has led the Cowboys to five NCAA titles and has coached 24 NCAA individual champions and 92 All-Americans since taking over the program in 1991-92. His 24 NCAA champions leads all active coaches and his 92 All-Americans ranks second to Minnesota's J Robinson, who has coached five more years than Smith.
Yet Another Milestone
The Cowboy wrestling team trailed only Iowa State in all-time dual wins entering the 2011-12 season. After the Cowboys defeated the Cyclones on Jan. 22, they took sole possession of first place on that list. Here's a look at the all-time standings through this season:
Most All-Time Dual Wins (Through 2011-2012 Season)
1. Oklahoma State 1,023-114-23 0.892

Dominating the Field
Among the competitors in this year's field at the NCAA Championships, two Cowboys have never lost. Jamal Parks is 16-0 and Chris Perry is 10-0 against possible opponents.
Unblemished
Two Oklahoma State wrestlers enter the NCAA Championships having won every bout this season. No. 2 Jamal Parks is 30-0 and No. 3 Chris Perry is 26-0. Alan Gelogaev, although he is sidelined with an injury, will finish the season with a record of 24-0. He lost to Chad Hanke at the Reno Tournament of Champions, but that loss does not count toward his record because Hanke is taking an Olympic redshirt year.
'Z' Best in the Big 12
Oklahoma State heavyweight starter Alan Gelogaev was selected as the Big 12 Wrestler of the Week on Jan. 23 for his pair of top 10 wins, including a 6-1 win over No. 9 Levi Cooper of Arizona State and a 13-1 major decision over No. 10 Matt Gibson of Iowa State. It was his first time to receive the award and the first honor for OSU this year.
Record Keepers
When Oklahoma State edged Iowa, 17-16, on Jan. 7, its win was much more than just upsetting the No. 1 team on their home mat in front of a sold out crowd. The Cowboys ended the Hawkeyes' unbeaten dual streak at 84, keeping their own record-streak of 84, set from 1959-66, tied for the best ever. OSU also bookended the Hawkeyes' streak, defeating them on Jan. 5, 2008, in their last loss before it began.
Welcome to the 100 Club
With his 5-0 championship performance at the Reno Tournament of Champions, OSU senior Jamal Parks became the 34th wrestler in school history to reach 100 career wins. The 149-pounder now holds a 119-22 record and is tied with Chris Barnes for 14th all-time at OSU in career wins.
Byers, Too
Cayle Byers has also reached the 100-win mark in his career. Although his record at Oklahoma State is 23-3, his career mark sits at 107-21 when his 84-18 record at George Mason is included in the record.
Jordan Fall-Iver
What OSU 133-pounder Jordan Oliver has done so far this year is nothing short of remarkable. The junior's 24-1 record includes 15 falls (nine in the first period), three technical falls and five major decisions. His pins:

'Z' Makes SI's “Faces in the Crowd”
Heavyweight wrestler Alan Gelogaev was one of six athletes featured in the Feb. 13 edition of Sports Illustrated's “Faces in the Crowd” after picking up a pair of top-10 wins over Levi Cooper (Arizona State) and Matt Gibson (Iowa State).
