STILLWATER, Okla. - The Oklahoma State softball team run-ruled Arkansas-Pine Bluff 12-2 in five innings in the second day of the Mizuno Classic. The Cowgirls second game, also against UAPB, was called off because of impending rain. The game will be played on Sunday at 1 p.m. The two games originally scheduled for Sunday morning have been cancelled.
Ari Morrison and Shelby Davis each hit a triple in the win against the Golden Lions and finished with two runs batted in. Freshman Taylor Woodall also hit her second homerun of the season. OSU (12-9) scored seven runs in the first inning, one in the second off Woodall's homerun, three in the fourth and one in the fifth.
Morgan Hawkins threw the complete game for the Cowgirls and improved to 2-2 on the season. She gave up five hits for one earned run, struck out four and walked two.
Oklahoma State will play Arkansas-Pine Bluff again at 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon to wrap up the 2012 Mizuno Classic.
