Stillwater, Okla. — The No. 23 Oklahoma State softball team will play two games in Stillwater and two games in Oklahoma City for The Preview this weekend. This is the third year OSU and Oklahoma have co-hosted the tournament.
The Cowgirls are 6-7 this season after going 2-3 in the Cathedral City Classic last weekend. Junior Tamara Brown continues to lead the team at the plate with a .389 average. She has 14 hits, including a double and a triple, and six runs batted in. Sophomore pitcher Simone Freeman has three of the Cowgirls wins this season and has struck out 39 batters in 38 innings pitched.
OSU will play Iowa at home on Friday evening. The Hawkeyes are 8-6 this season with two of their losses coming against ranked opponents. They are led offensively by Katie Keim, who is hitting .417, has three home runs and four doubles, and 16 RBIs. Iowa is led in the circle by Kayla Massey, who is 4-3 with a 0.99 earned run average.
Oklahoma State will travel to Oklahoma City on Saturday and play a doubleheader against Iowa and LSU at the Don. E Porter/ASA Hall of Fame Stadium. On Sunday LSU, will travel to Stillwater to play at Cowgirl Stadium. The Tigers are 9-4 after hosting a pair of tournaments and also playing one tournament in Las Vegas. LSU is batting .258 as a team, led by Juliana Santos, who has a .300 average. The pitching staff has a combined 2.08 ERA and is led by Rachele Fico, who is 5-1 with a 0.37 ERA.
